open Position : Rigging/Rigger

Responsibilities and Key Duties

  • Aligning, levelling and anchoring machinery
  • Attaching loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving with the use of hands or power tool.
  • Ensuring that rigging equipment is dismantled a d properly stored after use.
  • Communicating with workers that engaged in the process of hoisting or moving the loads, to ensure the safety of workers and materials.
  • Strictly adhering to safety regulations and precautions.
  • Overseen the process of tearing down, cleaning and storing of any rigging equipment or machinery used in moving

Requirements:

  • Physical fitness: riggers must have the physical capacity to lift heavy load with ease since the job involves manual labour.
  • Public License
  • Well developed communication and teamwork skills.
  • Spatial awareness which enables the rigger to appropriately move bulky and awkward material through tight spaces.
  • Concern for safety: Rigging is very dangerous profession and rigger must pay special and particular attention to safety.
  • At least high school Matric
  • Rigging Trade.
  • At least 3 years’ experience, mining experience will be an advantage.
